Our History
Margaretville Hospital is a 15-bed critical access hospital located adjacent to Route 28 in the town of Margaretville in Delaware County.
The first Margaretville Hospital was established in 1931 in a two-story white farmhouse in the center of town.
The present facility was opened in 1969, thanks in part to a dedicated fundraising commitment from community residents who felt strongly that a new hospital would provide the best health care for the surrounding rural area.
Today, Margaretville Hospital is a comprehensive rural community health system that provides a wide range of services to residents of Delaware, Greene, Ulster, and Schoharie counties.
In 2001, Margaretville Hospital and Mountainside Residential Care Center joined with HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley, a not-for-profit charitable organization that promotes health care education, service, and support throughout the region.
