This scholarship is being offered by Margaretville Hospital through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) grant program. The program will fund a paramedic education opportunity for two successful applicants. The successful applicants will be able to attend a Paramedic Program at the college of their choice (SUNY Cobleskill, Broome or Dutchess), and the cost of tuition, books and travel will be included. Applicants MUST be at least a NYS Certified EMT at the time of application and maintain their EMT certification for the duration of the paramedic program.
This program, funded by SAMHSA’s Rural Emergency Medical Services Training Grant, is a joint education venture between Delaware County and Margaretville Hospital to train individuals at all levels of Emergency Medical Services. Requirements for the program:
- All students will need a BLS Agency Affiliation in order to complete clinical requirements.
- A computer and internet access will be necessary; there will be some laptops available for loan, if necessary.
- An interview is required prior to acceptance into the class, which may be by phone or virtual.
